Challenges and Gaps in Facility Maintenance Practices

Facility management involves a variety of processes with large amount data for managing and maintaining facilities. Improved emerging technologies available to facility managers have provided opportunities easier access the allowing more effective efficient operation maintenance. The concept big can help extracting meaningful valuable information from data. Current practices many challenges, including loss, time wasted searching information, lack interoperability, so on. Lack proper decision-making approaches maintenance planning increase cost operation, influencing quality management. To effectively overcome these challenges gaps, tools should be implemented. A structured literature review was conducted identify gaps in three key processes: processing work orders, timely relevant during field operations, control/quality assurance tasks. This paper provides an overview processes, summarizes identified each process proposes framework improve on execution enhance decision making.
